Retiring a Party

Retiring a Party

If a party is no longer active, they can be retired. This means that they cannot have roles or authorities, but you can still view their record in the Parties module.

To Retire a Party

  1. Click Parties to open the Parties module.

  2. Select the party that you want to retire.

  3. Click Retire party to retire the party.

When the party is retired, they cannot be assigned any new object authorities (for example, as OWNER or OPERATOR).

Note

You can’t remove authorisations after a party is retired. If you need to do this, unretire the party first and then remove the party authorisations.

Viewing the Details of Retired Parties

By default, retired parties are not listed. If you want to show retired parties in search results, select the Include Retired checkbox in the search tool. Retired parties are highlighted in red and are marked as "(Retired)".

Constraints on Retiring a Party

In some cases a party cannot be retired. For example, you cannot retire a party in the following cases:

  • The party is the active member of a group

  • There are alarm actions associated with the party

  • The party has setflows

  • The party is required by the system.

If any constraints apply, an error message is displayed which explains why the party cannot be retired.

Unretiring a Party

You can unretire a retired party.

Example

You may need to do this so you can edit party details including party authorisations.

  1. In the Parties module select the party that you want to unretire.

  2. Click Unretire party to unretire the party.
